How did you vote?
Posted in Politics on 11/08/2006 04:04 pm by KatieHappy Democrat Day! Also, happy We Got 11% Day!
Now, don’t get me wrong…I think that some Democrats are just as bad as most Republicans (and I think that some Republicans are just as awesome as some Democrats). I’d just rather have a Democrat majority for once in my voting years.
And yet…
I didn’t vote Democrat. I voted essentially straight-down-the-ticket Green Party. Unless you count the races where there was one candidate for the position and it was a Republican (way to go McLean County).
I was mainly concerned about education, renewable energy and the environment, and Rich Whitney (gubernatorial candidate) had some really important things to say about those issues. And hell! He got 11% of the vote, which is frankly unprecedented!
So…how happy are you today? And how did you vote? Any particular hot-button issues that drove your decision?

I voted, you should be proud. I too gave my vote to Whitney. But that was sheerly based on the fact that I didnt want Blago back in and I wasn’t too fond of Topinka. :P

YAY! I am so proud! *hugs* Honestly, I wouldn’t care how you voted, as long as you did your civic duty! But I’m very very glad you voted Green. You helped us get 11%, which is HUGE for a 3rd party candidate!

No voting for me. I was out of the country. And, um, I’m not registered to vote anyway. That’s how they keep tabs on you, you know.
