Gorrammit…
Posted in Life on 02/02/2006 02:30 pm by KatieAlright, now I’ve got bronchitis. What the hell is going on right now?! I can’t stop being sick no matter how hard I try! I’ve been kicked off the teaching gig I had for the next 5 weeks on Saturdays, I’ve had to skip two afternoon classes in a row because I feel like such ass…
I hate being sick.
And what I hate more than being sick is not having anyone to take care of me.
I = miserable.

Chop up two to three cloves of garlic (cloves, not bulbs – I’ve seen people make that mistake). Chop up about an inch of ginger root. Squeeze the juice out of a lemon. Add a pinch of cayenne pepper. Then, two cups of water. Bring it all to a boil, strain the liquid into a cup, drink. Add a little honey if you like.
Garlic has an infinite amount of healing properties, as does ginger (which helps with cold and flu symptoms, including fever, dry cough, chills, and congestion). Lemon is high in Vitamin C, and is also full of phytochemicals which are plant constituents that help boost the immune system. And cayenne pepper? Cayenne pepper does a number on your circulatory system, speeding up your blood flow, and has been known to STOP HEART ATTACKS. And because it’s spicy, it clears your sinuses and causes you to pitch sweat, cleansing your system. If you don’t like spicy foods you might just have to suck it up… this concoction works like magic.
If you omit the cayenne pepper, you might as well just not make the drink at all because you’re a pansy.
